Gaming supervisors monitor gaming operations and personnel in an assigned area. Circulating among the table games, they see that all stations and games are covered for each shift. It also is typical for supervisors to interpret the casino’s operating codes for guests. Supervisors might also plan and organize activities for guests staying in their casino hotels.

Gaming supervisors must have certain leadership qualities and excellent communication skills. They need these abilities both to manage employees accurately and to greet patrons in order to inspire return visits. Just about all casino supervisory staff have an associate or bachelor’s degree. No matter their their educational background, however, quite a few supervisors gain experience in other casino occupations before moving into supervisory desks because knowledge of games and casino operations is essential for these staff.
